Who are We?
My name is Jane Bisco and I am a Clinical Social Worker in Columbia, Maryland. I have 25 year's experience in the field of mental health working with children and adults affected by a variety of situational stressors and mental health challenges.
I have worked in a variety of settings including residential care for adults, therapeutic foster care, inpatient hospital settings, domestic violence and sexual assault centers, and community mental health agencies. I served as Program Director for a community mental health center as well as supervising group homes in New York and a community rehabilitation program in Baltimore. My undergraduate degree is from Hofstra University and I completed my Master's Degree at the University of Maryland at Baltimore. I received post graduate training in Hypnotherapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I am a member of the National Association of Social workers and volunteer in elementary and middle schools in the area.
I work collaboratively with families, schools and other supportive persons to carefully guide you in working through situations and challenges and assisting you in building and recognizing the stronger, healthier person inside.
In working with families and individuals, I use both traditional psychotherapies such as cognitive and behavioral therapies, and mind body techniques such as EMDR and hypnosis. I often includes pets in therapy sessions to increase comfort and and a feeling of safety for some of my clients.
I believe that in educating our clients about the symptoms and challenges they are experiencing, we empower them in their own journey to healing. I am here to accompany you as you find your inner strength and health.
